“Getting together to sing each week brings more joy into my heart!”
The Freedom Choir is a place to liberate your voice and revel in the age-old tradition of singing together with others. Directed by award-winning vocalist and musician Elizabeth Melvin, we sing uplifting songs from around the globe with messages of peace, hope, healing and friendship. We are a joyful community of singers non-affiliated with any religion or creed.
No audition or experience required! Songs are taught in the oral tradition, in call and response fashion. Written lyrics are occasionally provided, but you don’t need to be able to read music. After a fun, stress-free session of singing, we guarantee you’ll leave with a smile on your face and a song in your heart!
Opportunities for performances throughout the year, participation optional! We have sung at numerous outdoor festivals, as well as civic and cultural events. The choir performs concerts in the Fall and Spring, with all proceeds going to local and national non-profit organizations.
Choose from two days and locations per week! It’s easier than ever to enjoy the benefits of community singing. Registering for the session enables you to attend at either location.
